Welcome to the neighborhood girls!! Time to get busy!! :-)

First, I apologize for being absent for so long - things have been a little hectic lately.  OK maybe A LOT hectic lately!  But I'm still here...catching up on my favorite blogs too!

See, we have just listed our "city" house.  Anyone who has sold a house knows what a daunting task getting our city house up for sale has been.  Lots of odds and ends, sprucing up, and loads of painting, painting and more painting.  Our realtor was optimistic that we would have an offer in 2 weeks but we just passed 2 weeks and nothing yet.  So fingers crossed - something happens soon.  The realtor is of the mindset that we are competing with new home construction and that is delaying our home sale.  We have managed to keep the house spic and span clean though...and thankfully the kids (and pets) are cooperating too.

Speaking of kids, our kids are all about ready to bolt from the nest too.  I can't believe it.  We had one just graduate from college and will be attending grad school in the Fall.  The oldest kid will be moving out into his own apartment with his girlfriend.  And, last but not least, my youngest, will be graduating from high school next week and starting his freshman year of college.  Empty nest is fast approaching!  I'm a little bummed about that but trying to embrace the plan we have developed of moving to the country.  There should be tons and tons to keep me busy and occupied!

We are super excited about relocating to the country and trying to carry out our plan accordingly.  Our farmhouse has been doing quite well.  Gardens are being maintained by my Uncle - watering and weeding take a lot of effort that's for sure.  He is doing an excellent job.  We have a smaller garden this year:  tomatoes, snow peas, green onions, onions, lettuce, radishes, bush beans, zucchini, watermelon, rhubarb, horseradish and garlic.  We also have blackberries, grapes, blueberries, apple trees, pear trees, cherry trees.  My herb garden is doing awesome too:  oregano, rosemary, lavender, basil, dill, parsley, catnip, etc.  So I'm happy as can be.

Don't forget about my bees died in the Spring this year.  We have a REALLY bad Winter - and we ordered bees late in the Winter and we still have not received them yet.  The place we ordered them from will not pick up their phone so I'm not sure when we will be getting the new ones.  I've heard there is a bee shortage this year...which is really sad.  Hopefully this week they will arrive.

My employer in Chicago has no idea that I am carrying out this relocation plan.  I didn't feel it was in my best interest to mention it to them quite yet.  I have no idea how long it is going to take to sell our house.  As soon as we close on the house I will be turning in my 2 weeks resignation.  I seriously cannot wait!  I am getting antsy - that's for sure!

So anyway - exciting things to come!!  Stay tuned, please.
